These rubber handled miter vises are great for frames and furniture making.  The vises can be rotated, swung and locked into the most convenient position for fastening.  The jaws will accept moldings or boards up to 4" & 7" wide. The heavy casting is machined as one part guaranteeing that the jaws will be in perfect alignment. When using multiple miter vises, they may sit at different elevations from your work surface - even though the castings are exactly alike when the holes are drilled into the base, the holes are drilled oversize. Why the manufacturer does that we don't know, however, we have sold thousands of these vises and they make perfect frames.
